Dr. Landess has specialized training in both forensic and general psychiatry. She treats a range of psychiatric disorders including post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, co-occurring substance use disorders, mood and psychotic illnesses. Her diagnostic approach is holistic, thoughtful and thorough and considers the biological, psychological, and social factors which led to the development of the client’s psychiatric symptoms or conditions. Throughout treatment, Dr. Landess works collaboratively with her clients to set and measure goals as well as to sustain meaningful progress. Her treatment approach combines psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, lifestyle interventions, and other modalities with a focus on identifying and bolstering the person’s resilience, strengths, purpose, meaning and values in order to promote mastery of their unique life stressors, improve self-esteem, and increase their ability to build lasting, satisfying relationships with others.

Education and Training

Dr. Landess received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University and her law degree from Indiana University. She completed her residency at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois before completing her forensic fellowship at the University of Colorado. She subsequently worked in St. Louis, Missouri before coming to Wisconsin.  She currently works in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient, and forensic, and serves as a psychiatric consultant to the Department of Health Services.
