Myrna is licensed as a clinical social worker and a professional counselor. She has more than 35 years of behavioral health experience, working primarily with adults. She is skilled in treating post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, loss and grief, anxiety, other mood disorders, relationship concerns, and in diagnosing and treating adults with ADHD. Myrna has a special interest and experience in working with healthcare professionals and understands the challenges we face. She is interested in working with women who are struggling to develop body positivity, an issue she believes impacts almost all women at one time or another in their lives.
Myrna’s background is extensive in treating those who have a trauma history, including physical, sexual, sudden loss, and military trauma. She spent many years working with veterans and their families in a nationwide program of the Veterans Administration and has a deep understanding of the issues military personnel and their families face in active duty, deployment and in post military readjustment. She also has extensive familiarity with sexual trauma, including workplace harassment issues.
Myrna also has special interest in midlife transitions, particularly pertaining to divorce, and resuming dating after a long partnership/marriage has ended. She likes to say, “There is indeed life after divorce”.
Myrna works with individuals and couples of all ages and stages of life, and especially enjoys working with persons from other cultures.
