Hayley Shilling
Dr. Shilling is a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with adults, adolescents (ages 15+), individuals, couples, and families. She has experience helping clients deal with a wide range of concerns, including: depression, mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, grief/loss, and coping with the psychological effects of physical health issues. In addition, Dr. Shilling has specific interests and experience working with pre-college and college students, returning adult learners, graduate and professional school students—as well as partners, families, and parents of students—to address stressors that occur in the context of pursuing academic goals.
Dr. Shilling’s approach to therapy is built upon the importance of accurately understanding, respecting, and collaborating with clients to facilitate a “good fit” for doing the work of therapy. She works with those who consult her to define problems, choose goals, and highlight strengths that will support desired changes. Depending upon individuals’ unique needs and preferences, Dr. Shilling draws from several approaches to therapy. These primarily include cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, narrative, and brief/solution-focused therapies.
