Dr. Warrior offers psychotherapy to adult individuals and couples. Her expertise in diagnosis and assessment ensures that treatment will be appropriate, effective, and efficient. Her collaborative approach draws from motivational interviewing and change stage theory, helping clients recognize and use their own strengths to make desired life changes.
Dr. Warrior specializes in using Cognitive and Behavioral methods to help clients cope with anxiety, mood disorders, job and relationship stressors and life-stage challenges. She enjoys teaching anger management, assertiveness skills and stress management skills. Her theoretical orientation is brief, solution-focused therapy.
Evaluation/Assessment
Dr. Warrior provides evaluations for individuals of all ages, from children to seniors. She does psychological testing to clarify mental health diagnoses, to evaluate the severity of cognitive or learning problems, and to assess parenting skills. Her reports assist judges, attorneys, child protective services workers, disability evaluators and vocational rehabilitation counselors with decision making and service planning for their clients.
Education and Training
Dr. Warrior received her education from Iowa State University-Ames, Iowa in psychology (B.S.) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison in clinical psychology (M.S. and Ph.D.). Dr. Warrior’s clinical internship training was with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. She has been a Licensed Psychologist since 1985.
